FYI Rio 2016 Olympic Bronze Medalist in Calgary for Rocky Mountain Cup Swim Meet


CALGARY, AB (27 October 2016) - Hot off the heels of Canada’s fine performance in
the pool at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Kylie Masse (Windsor, ON), Olympic
Bronze Medalist in the women’s 100m backstroke, and the University of Toronto
Varsity Blues Swim Team are here in Calgary to compete at the 2016 Rocky
Mountain Cup. The competition runs parallel to the Cascade Speed Meet over the
course of two days in a very exciting World Cup format.

The two events, with a combined swimmer entry of 625 athletes, features no less
than twelve (12) national team athletes from Canada as well as four (4) Rio 2016
Olympic team members from two countries. Masse, will be joined by her Canadian
Olympic Team teammates Yuri Kisil (Calgary, AB), representing the UBC
Thunderbirds, and Jason Block (Calgary, AB) from the University of Calgary Swim
Club. Kisil swam his age group swimming career and won a bronze medal in 2015
at the World Championships while representing the event host, the Cascade Swim
Club. The three Canadians are joined by Irish Olympic Team Member, Fiona Doyle
(Limerick, Ireland), who finished 20th in the women’s 100m breaststroke at the Rio
Olympic Games.

The Rocky Mountain Cup brings athletes to Talisman Sports Centre from six
Canadian provinces and is traditionally the fastest short course metres event in the
fall season with a number of Canadian Records having been broken since the event
began eight years ago.

(Some of you have inquired if these daysheets could be continually updated as changes come in, week to week.  Unfortunately, we haven't discovered an efficient way to do that, as generating these daysheets is a very time consuming process.  Please continue to email sportpartners@talismancentre.com to request updated contracts if necessary, for confirmation of changes made to your space.  If you are seeking new space, possibly given up by another group vacating their space, please send your requests with as much detail as possible to the same email.)
